The Silly Facebook Quote Game 3 - Part 1 of 4

QUOTE ONE:

Matthew Rozsa
The third round of the silly quote game commences with this entry, worth twenty-four points: “Of course I'm going to say "I'm a thug"; that's because I came from the gutter and I'm still here!”

Matthew Rozsa
For the record, I'm going back to the original format of the game - lower point values per quote and twenty questions per game. Oh yes... PLEASE NO CHEATING!

Kirk Harlan
If I recall my Behind the Music correctly, that's Tupac Shakur.

Matthew Rozsa
You are correct, Kirk.

QUOTE TWO:

Matthew Rozsa
For eighteen points, tell me who said:
"Years ago I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free."

Jon Gorga
I don't know who said it but I like it.

Matthew Rozsa
Nine points for possessing good taste in quotes!

Jon Gorga
You, sir, are too good to me....

Jim Chambers
see, you say you're not a socialist, and then you go quoting Eugene Debs.

Matthew Rozsa
I'm also not a Republican, but I quoted Richard Nixon. Why? Because even though I disagree with the ideologies held by both individuals, the specific themes represented in their quotes were ones with which I was in concurrence. I don't have to share ALL of someone's views to see merit in SOME of them.

Jim Chambers
Fair.

Joey Lee
I've always known you to quote Richard Nixon. But I guess we did meet in Modern American Presidency class.

QUOTE THREE:

Matthew Rozsa
For twenty-one points, tell me who said:
"Reality has a well-known liberal bias."

Rachel Ana Brown (on my wall)
Stephen Colbert!

Allison Rose Frederich
stephen colbert

Rachel Ana Brown
Stephen Colbert! Pick a side, y, we're at war!

Matthew Rozsa
Sorry Allison, but even though Rachel posted her response in the wrong place, she did technically get it there before you, so the points go to her.

QUOTE FOUR:

Matthew Rozsa
For thirty points, tell me who said:
"Happiness is a warm gun."

Rachel Ana Brown
This is from the Beatles "White Album." I dunno if it was Lennon or McCartney who wrote the lyrics.

Matthew Rozsa
Close enough! The points are yours!

Kirk Harlan
My girlfriend correctly identified this, I however know very little of the Beatles' work and was thus clueless.

QUOTE FIVE:

Matthew Rozsa
For twenty-nine-point-five points, tell me who said:
"It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts."

Kirk Harlan
That would be a one Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. God knows I've read enough of his books.

Matthew Rozsa
It goes to Kirk!

Rachel Ana Brown
Kirk, not Spock? How can Kirk be so rational, all he does is DROP KICK.

Matthew Rozsa
No, Kirk is the one who GUESSED the quote, not the one who PRODUCED the quote.
